150,000 energy-saving and environmentally-friendly LEDs light up the Expo Park

Whether it is the dazzling Chinese pavilion or the beautiful “Expo axis”, there are 150,000 energy-saving and environmentally-friendly LEDs (light-emitting diodes) in the Expo Park under the night to light up the various venues and streets in the park. In the beautiful night scene of the Expo built by LED brilliant lights, green lighting technology is adopted. Recently, Mr. Martin Goetzeler, President and CEO of OSRAM Global, revealed how the China Pavilion presented “Forbidden City Red” at night, and also revealed that the LED energy consumption of the China Pavilion exceeded 70%.

China Pavilion LED energy saving over 70%

The China Pavilion is one of the core buildings of the 2010 Shanghai World Expo. In order to show the main color of the China Pavilion "Forbidden City Red" at night, the organizers used more than 23,000 LEDs. It took six months for the light to dim the LED.

As one of the world's two major light source manufacturers, OSRAM is also the official lighting partner of China's 2010 Shanghai World Expo. “Osram and its parent company, Siemens, provide green technology for more than 40 major World Expo projects,” said Gu Yule. “This includes the China Pavilion and other landmark venues such as the Expo Center, the Expo Axis, and even the Expo Park. Indoor venues to the outdoor road."

For the effect of the “inside light” effect exhibited by the China Pavilion at night, Gu Yule revealed that 2,000 ceramic metal halide lamps were designed to be installed above the beams inside the China Pavilion, thus illuminating the overall framework of the China Pavilion from the inside out. . “Because of the high luminous efficiency of LED floodlights and the projection distance of more than 66 meters, it is a good highlight of the stalwart shape of the China Pavilion at night, showing the fascinating color of 'China Red'.” Gu Yule said.

As for energy saving, Gu Yule said that compared with the traditional illuminating method of exterior wall lighting, the LED lights of the China Pavilion can save more than 70%. At the same time, due to the long service life of 50,000 hours, the replacement cost of the bulb is greatly reduced.

Future lighting conversion time and space

It is understood that many venues of the 2010 Shanghai World Expo have used OSRAM's green technology. “In the Expo Center, in Houtan Park, we lit up the Expo stage, and also provided lighting equipment to the German Pavilion and the French Pavilion, achieving the “smart and energy-saving” lighting mode.” Gu Yule said, “Our goal Yes, create a sustainable low-carbon Expo by using outstanding energy-efficient lighting solutions."

In the design of “One World”, the night falls, and the five connected semi-circular buildings are transformed into five crystal balls by the beautiful and dynamic LED lights, which perfectly presents the “Home of the Future”. Concept.

In the eyes of Gu Yule, the beautiful lighting effects in this pavilion showcase world-class solid-state lighting examples.

But what is more proud of the staff is that in the “One World”, there is a “virtual window” that changes in time and space, and it will become radiant after the power is turned on. The secret is that it uses an OLED that represents the future direction of lighting – organic light-emitting diode technology. Due to low energy consumption, the application of OLED technology can significantly reduce energy consumption.

This virtual window created by the latest technology of Osram/Traxon has successfully turned "time and space change" into reality. “When the pictures of the Forbidden City are displayed, it seems that they are there. When they miss the son who is far away in Shanghai, the window can be changed to the Bund. As the mood changes, the weather in the picture can be changed accordingly. Gu Yule said that this also represents the lighting technology of the future, which can realize the conversion of time and space through lighting equipment, and can also be used as a decorative highlight of the home.

Printed Circuit Board assembly sometimes called PCB Assembly(PCBA).
The bare board is populated with Electronic Components to form a functional. In through-hole technology, the component leads are inserted in holes surrounded by conductive pads; the holes keep the components in place. In surface-mount technology (SMT), the component is placed on the PCB so that the pins line up with the conductive pads or lands on the surfaces of the PCB; solder paste, which was previously applied to the pads, holds the components in place temporarily; if surface-mount components are applied to both sides of the board, the bottom-side components are glued to the board. In both through hole and Surface Mount, the components are then soldered; once cooled and solidified, the solder holds the components in place permanently and electrically connects them to the board.
