Boeing Uses AR Technologies such as HoloLens for Fire Fighting

Fighting a mountain fire has always been a dangerous thing, even with the participation of fire fighting aircraft. But with the help of Boeing and mixed reality technology, the safety of firefighting aircraft and firefighters is improving.

Boeing has more than 100 years of aircraft manufacturing experience and a large list of subsidiaries. They are also constantly innovating the aircraft industry. The latest example is the research and development of Insitu. Boeing bought this drone manufacturer in 2009.

Insitu developed a system for controlling drones called INEXA Control. The system is much like a top-down 2D view. However, they have used Microsoft HoloLens to convert 2D maps of INEXA Control into accurate 3D maps of dangerous areas, such as wildfire locations.

This 3D overview map tracks all flying equipment (including drones) as well as the fire brigade on the ground. Even with the low visibility caused by wildfires, the system can clearly identify areas and avoid accidents.

With the ability to look at the overall situation, the fire commander can make more effective decisions to ensure the safety of the staff while extinguishing the fire. Quick and complete scene details are presented allowing quick mobilization and intelligent management of resources. In addition, multiple HoloLens users can browse the map and coordinate with each other.

The combination of drones and augmented reality devices seems to be a trend. Epson Moverio is part of Epson, and they have already developed similar drone control devices. The BT-300 smart glasses are the third generation of Epson Moverio head mounted AR displays.

In an interview with Armdevices at the beginning of the year, Valerie Riffaud-Cangelosi, director of new market development for Epson Europe, was asked about the main market for the device. She replied, “The market is based on considerable size, and there are many different areas and departments that will use it. The product, drones, may be one of the main markets...because driving (AR) glasses to drones is the perfect choice.”

When you see many different technology companies moving in the same direction, you can assume that they are very optimistic about something. I'm pretty sure that in the near future, when you see a drone flying by, you can find people wearing smart glasses nearby. Maybe one day, the guy wearing these glasses will be our fire brigade, courageously put out various fires and protect our lives and property.

KNB6-40 Miniature Circuit Breaker

KNB6-40 Mini Circuit breakers, also named as the air switch which have a short for arc extinguishing device. It is a switch role, and also is a automatic protection of low-voltage electrical distribution. Its role is equivalent to the combination of switch. Fuse. Thermal Relay and other electrical components. It mainly used for short circuit and overload protection. Generally, According to the poles, mini Circuit breaker can be divided into 1P , 1P+N , 2P, 3P and 4P.
