"Cloud" is cloud data and cloud intelligence that are commonly understood by all people. It can easily collect data and optimize user experience based on personal data. The "end" is to allow a single appliance to have basic intelligence without networking: natural interactions with people for language, gestures, and actions; ability to perceive the surrounding environment; make local analysis decisions; and respond and control.

The value of the terminal intelligence lies in: not relying on the network, stable and reliable; having real-time; and filtering valuable data. Take the laundry basket as an example. Since the first day of its establishment, Horizon has put forward its own research and development “artificial intelligence chip” signboard, and also regards it as one of the core competitiveness. Zhang Yongqian said that deep learning algorithms are running on dedicated chip architectures, and compared to general-purpose processor architectures, cost-performance can be improved by orders of magnitude. Horizon's deep learning processor architecture can also work with semiconductor companies to jointly develop the best overall solution that best suits different application markets. The chip is a means, and the business core of Horizon is still embedded artificial intelligence.

For example, Mobileye, formerly acquired by Intel, has seen Zhang Yongqian treat it like this: “Why can Mobileye be successful in ADAS? First, he has very strong algorithmic capabilities. However, not every partner needs a full suite of "chip + algorithm" solutions. Third, "Today's smart market cannot be just a technical one, and it needs a one-stop solution."

Although there are a lot of good teams in both voice and graphics on the market, Zhang Yongqian expressed his confidence in Horizon technology: “(Horizon) is both an algorithm and a processor architecture that is optimal in terms of price/performance and efficiency.”

On the other hand, it is closely related to the market. As mentioned earlier, the current smart home industry has been flat and the market is very imperfect. Zhang Yongqian thinks that the advantages of Horizon in addition to technology, there is the ability to provide a full range of solutions for home appliance companies. Nowadays, many customers do not have the overall capabilities of the underlying hardware, intelligent algorithms, upper applications, and cloud services.
