Mainland replenishment flooded panel duo

Mainland China will implement a new energy efficiency standard for flat-screen TVs starting in December. At present, nearly 15% of LCD TVs in the region are sub-standard and are facing delisting; the new system will speed up the replacement of high-energy-consuming LCD TVs, which is expected to drive a surge. In addition, we will expand AUO and Chi Mei Power's supply of mainland color power plants.

In addition to the mainland LCD TV market, Europe and the United States also plans to implement the Energy Star 5.0 version, which has more stringent power consumption specifications for high-power flat-screen TVs.

These new standards will drive LED-backlit LCD TVs to continue to grow and become the mainstream LCD TV products next year.

The mainland announced in June this year that "flat TV energy efficiency limit and energy efficiency rating" will be implemented from December 1. There are three energy efficiency indexes for LCD TVs. If these three index ranges cannot be met, they will not meet the standards. According to mainland official statistics, the first-level energy efficiency LCD TVs in the market accounted for only 2.4% of the total LCD TVs, the second-tier ratio was 10.8%, the third-level accounted for 72.3%, and the remaining 14.5% were facing delisting.

Energy efficiency standards dictate the power consumption of flat-panel TVs. Whether they are on or off, there are wattages that dictate power consumption. Assuming a 200-watt LCD TV, the power consumption is 0.2 degrees per hour. If you use LED-backlit TV products, you can usually save 50% of the power consumption, that is, save 0.1 degrees per hour.

Peng Shuanglang, AUO's executive deputy chief executive, said that the implementation of new energy efficiency standards in the Mainland will help Caicai Power Plant to clear out old inventory and purchase new products, which will help upgrade Taiwan's panel makers to the mainland.

The implementation of the new energy efficiency standards soon, the mainland color power plants have cut production of high-energy-consuming flat-panel TVs, and at the same time accelerate the promotion of high-energy-consuming flat-panel TVs, taking 26-inch LCD TVs as an example, the lowest price is only RMB 800 (approximately NT$3, 700 yuan), 32-inch LCD TVs sell for only 1,500 yuan (about NT 6,900 yuan).

According to statistics from Ovey Consulting, a mainland market agency, mainland China's LED-backlit LCD TVs shipped 827,000 units in the third quarter, with a penetration rate of 20%. During the Mid-Autumn National Day, the penetration rate reached 42%, with high-energy LCD TVs. The exit, energy-saving, low-power LED-backlit LCD TVs are expected to accelerate adoption.
