Recently, the EU announced in the official gazette that the committee decided 2010/122/EU. In view of the technical immaturity of the replacement of cadmium in LEDs, it was decided to exempt it.
The 2010/122/EU requirements add the following Article 39 to the Appendix to the RoHS Directive (ie exemption):
"39. Chromium used in color conversion II-VI LEDs (< 10μg candela per square millimeter of illuminated area) used in solid state lighting or display systems prior to July 1, 2014.
