In 2017, Samsung increased its OLED panel shipment target from 400 million in 2016 to 550 million. International research firm IHS Markit predicts that the global OLED market will jump 32% to $19.2 billion in 2017; shipments will also soar by 22% to 630 million.

In 2017, Apple's next-generation smartphone products will use hyperbolic flexible AMOLED panels, and the entire supply chain manufacturers around the world are actively following up.

Samsung Electronics is the best beneficiary of the OLED boom, and shipments from other players are still limited.

Other brands, the output of small and medium-sized OLEDs are quite different from Samsung. In addition to Samsung, other manufacturers are still unable to guarantee high quality, stable, and large supply.

Domestic manufacturers still have a long way to go in terms of patent layout, talent reserve, supply chain support and industry experience. In this respect, enterprises need to strengthen their own technology research and development and personnel training. On the other hand, they can also obtain indirect licenses through relevant patent technologies, or indirectly through mergers and acquisitions and cooperative investment by upstream manufacturers.
