LED lighting in the PalacePier residential area in Toronto


Toronto's Palace Pier waterfront residential area has become Canada's (and even North America) first residential building with LED technology for interior lighting, and this is only part of the $2.4 million internal corridor innovation project.

Jim Lord, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Palace Palace in Toronto, said: “This is the largest residential area in Canada and even North America that uses LED technology. Our board and residents have been looking for solutions for new green lighting. Now we find that LED lighting is exactly The answer we want."

The project uses MR16 luminaires consisting of nearly 1,300 LEDs on each of the 44 floors of each corridor. Compared to the traditional 35 watt halogen MR16 lamps, Canadian CRS Electronics offers LED lights of only 4 watts.

CRS's LED MR16 lamp can maintain 70% of luminous flux after 40,000 hours of continuous use, which is equivalent to 5 years of continuous use. Compared to the 35-watt halogen lamp instead of the replacement, the LED MR16 lamp consumes 87% less energy and saves approximately $40,000 per year for the Palace residents. Electricity demand is reduced by 40 kilowatts, and the total annual electricity consumption is 349,226 degrees, equivalent to a reduction of 110 tons of greenhouse gas emissions. Moreover, the life of the halogen lamp is 2000 hours, while the MR16 lamp is 40,000 hours, which greatly reduces the maintenance cost required for the purchase of the lamp and the worker's work. Therefore, considering the issue of saving energy and maintenance costs, the cost will be recovered after 9 months of purchase.

The High-mast Lamp is generally refers to the new lighting device which is composed of the steel taper light pole and the high power combination lamp frame of 15 meters or above.It consists of lamp holder, internal lamp, electric rod body and basic part.Lamp head modelling can according to user requirement, surroundings, lighting need specific and definite;The interior lamps are mainly composed of floodlights and projection lamps. The light source adopts NG400 high pressure sodium lamp, and the lighting radius is 60 meters.The bar body is usually a pyramid structure, which is made of steel plate, with a height of 15 to 40 meters, which consists of two to three sections.
