On the afternoon of August 24, ZTE Corporation (stock codes: 000063.SZ, 00763.HK) released its semi-annual report for 2017. For the six months ending June 30, 2017, the company reported revenue of RMB 54.006 billion, marking a 13.09% increase from the same period last year. The net profit attributable to listed company shareholders stood at RMB 2.293 billion, up 29.8% year-over-year, with basic earnings per share reaching RMB 0.55.
In terms of business segments, ZTE's operating income in the first half of 2017 showed an overall increase compared to the same period in 2016. This growth was primarily driven by higher revenues in both the operator network and consumer business sectors compared to the previous year.
During this reporting period, the operator network contributed RMB 32.352 billion in operating income, while the government business segment generated RMB 3.765 billion, and the consumer business achieved RMB 17.894 billion in operating income.
The Group's operator network revenue increased by 12.58% year-over-year, largely due to strong performances in domestic 4G system products, domestic fixed network and bearer systems, as well as European wireless products. Meanwhile, the consumer business saw a 24.13% year-over-year increase, fueled by higher sales of international mobile phones and domestic family terminal products. Conversely, corporate business revenue fell by 18.27% year-over-year, primarily due to lower operating income from domestic and international government and enterprise projects.

This performance reflects ZTE’s continued efforts to expand its market presence and diversify its product offerings. Despite challenges in certain areas, such as the corporate business segment, the company remains optimistic about future growth opportunities.
