Jordan plans to introduce a new trade strategy


At the first economic meeting of Il Peter, the Jordanian Minister of Industry and Trade Amer Hididi revealed that Jordan will introduce a new trade strategy, expand Jordan's trade with other countries, and encourage Jordanian products to export. He said the strategy will involve e-commerce, antitrust, free trade agreements and domestic services and industrial industry management. The Jordanian Ministry of Industry and Trade is drafting relevant industrial policies to increase industry competitiveness and help companies cope with the challenges posed by globalization and economic openness. At present, Jordan’s Ministry of Industry and Trade is negotiating a free trade agreement with Turkey, the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), Canada and Pakistan, and expanding the export of Jordan’s products. The delegates who participated in the first economic conference of Il Peter also discussed northern Jordan. Future investment and development plans in the provinces, especially Irbid. According to the person in charge, Irbid province has a population of 1 million, accounting for 18% of the country's population. Large areas of farmland, abundant rainfall and good infrastructure have laid the foundation for future economic development based on the Hasan Qualified Industrial Zone in the province. A large amount of foreign capital has expanded Jordan's exports. Currently, there are 71 enterprises operating in the district, employing 20,000 workers, 62% of whom are foreign workers. The province is currently attracting investment in information technology, medical equipment and services, education and other industries to promote social and economic development.
