According to the September Statistics Bulletin of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, as of the end of September, there were 1.241 billion telephone users nationwide, including 288 million fixed telephone users and 952 million mobile telephone users. The number of 3G users exceeded 100 million, reaching 10.257 million.
In the first three quarters, the total national telecommunications business totaled 870.95 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 15.9%; the main telecommunications business revenue was 734.26 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10%, 0.6 percentage points higher than the GDP growth rate over the same period. The proportion of mobile communications revenue expanded to 72.13%, while the proportion of fixed communications revenue dropped to 27.87%.
3G users exceed 100 million mark
In September 2011, there was a net increase of 11.856 million telephone users nationwide, with a total of 12.40738 million. Among them, fixed-line telephone users decreased by 363,000, and mobile phone users increased by 12.22 million, creating a new monthly record of mobile net additions.
In terms of fixed-line telephone, from January to September, the number of fixed-line subscribers nationwide decreased by 5.908 million to 28.8433 million. Among fixed-line telephone users, wireless local telephone users decreased by 8.353 million to 20.28 million. The proportion of fixed-line telephone users decreased from 9.7% at the end of last year to 7.0%.
For mobile phones, from January to September, the cumulative increase of mobile phone users nationwide was 93.302 million, reaching 95.253 million. Among mobile phone users, the net increase of 3G users was 55.406 million, and the number of users exceeded 100 million to reach 102.457 million.
The number of Internet users and Internet broadband access users of basic telecommunications companies increased by 23.641 million to reach 14.9942 million, while the number of Internet dial-up users decreased by 198,000 to 5.703 million.
Telecommunications main business income growth rate exceeds GDP
From January to September 2011, the total national telecommunications business totaled 870.95 billion yuan, an increase of 15.9% over the same period of last year; the total revenue of telecommunications main business completed 734.26 billion yuan, an increase of 10.0% over the same period of last year, and the growth rate of GDP over the same period 0.6 percentage points higher.
Among them, mobile communication revenue totaled 529.65 billion yuan, an increase of 13.9% over the same period of last year, and the proportion of the main business revenue of telecommunications increased from 69.61% in the same period of last year to 72.13%; fixed communication revenue totaled 204.62 billion yuan , An increase of 0.8% over the same period of last year, and the proportion of the main business income of telecommunications decreased from 30.39% of the same period of last year to 27.87%.
