Analysis of the appearance and function of Xiaomi walkie-talkie

At the start of this year, Xiaomi Mijia introduced a new walkie-talkie, which was great news for radio enthusiasts. Known for its innovative approach, Xiaomi has once again brought something fresh to the table with its latest product—something that’s familiar to many but still exciting. The design of the Xiaomi Mijia walkie-talkie follows the brand's signature style: simple, elegant, and user-friendly. It breaks away from the traditional bulky and dark look that many walkie-talkies are known for. While it may not offer groundbreaking features compared to standard analog walkie-talkies, it shines in its attention to detail, offering small but meaningful improvements. One standout feature is its built-in 2600 mAh battery, which is non-removable but easily rechargeable via a standard MicroUSB port. This means you can charge it using your Android phone’s cable, a car charger, or even a power bank—making it ideal for outdoor adventures where power sources might be limited. Additionally, the device supports FM radio and includes a quick teaming function that simplifies frequency setup for group communication. What really sets it apart, though, is the real-time location tracking feature, which is a huge plus for hikers and road trip lovers. Despite these features, some users still feel there's room for improvement, and now the second-generation model has already made an appearance. At the recent China Outdoor Club Conference, the company behind the Xiaomi walkie-talkie, part of the Xiaomi ecosystem, didn’t showcase the Mijia version. Instead, they presented their own brand, "Very Bee." This move seems to follow a trend among Xiaomi eco-chain companies, who often launch their own brands after gaining experience and recognition. For example, Huami (for smartwatches), Zimi (for power banks), Zhimi (for air purifiers), and others have all gone on to develop their own identities. Similarly, the team behind the Xiaomi robot vacuum has launched its own brand and released a new model. In contrast, Very Bee is still in the early stages of building its brand. They didn’t unveil any new products at the event, but hints from promotional materials suggest that a new product under the "Very Bee" name is coming soon. The design looks more rugged and traditional, almost like the classic walkie-talkies of the past. Whether this is a return to basics or just a different aesthetic choice remains to be seen. But from what we’ve seen so far, it’s definitely worth keeping an eye on.
