Today, the China (Chongqing) International Cloud Computing Expo (hereinafter referred to as the “Cloud Expo”) was grandly opened in Chongqing. At the meeting, Shang Bing, Deputy Minister of Industry and Information Technology, pointed out that with the efforts of relevant departments and related companies, there is a certain foundation, application practice has been gradually carried out, infrastructure has been gradually improved, technological innovations are gratifying, and the industrial chain has taken shape.

Regarding Chongqing’s efforts in cloud computing, Shang Bing spoke highly of it. “Chongqing, as an important modern manufacturing base in China, developed in the west and an economic center in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, has actively played a leading role in radiation in recent years and vigorously implemented the cloud. The plan has made active efforts in the development of cloud computing and has now formed an application scale of 280,000 servers."

Shang Bing pointed out that China's Chongqing (International) Cloud Computing Expo in 2012 will have a positive impact on the development of cloud computing in the Midwest, and even in China. It is hoped that Chongqing will use this as an opportunity to strengthen the top-level design of cloud computing development, create a favorable environment for development, guide enterprises to rapidly improve the ability to innovate technologies and services, and accelerate the optimization and upgrading of industrial structure. “The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has always attached great importance to the development of the Chongqing information industry. In the follow-up work, it will give better support to jointly promote the development of China’s cloud computing industry.”
