Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA, May 7, 2013 , Innovasic today announced the launch of a new version of the RapID platform network interface for PROFIBUS connectivity. The PROFIBUS network interface of the RapID platform supports all data transmission rates up to 12 Mbit / s, and obtains DP-V1 certification of PROFIBUS & PROFINET International Organization (PI) according to the latest PROFIBUS DP slave test specifications.
The PROFIBUS network interface is transmitted in the form of a module or embedded design, covering all the elements required for the PROFIBUS serial network, including the communication controller, protocol stack, flash memory, RAM and physical interface. The main processor connects to the network interface through a UART or a 16-bit parallel interface. At the software layer, the host is connected to a unified interface so that other protocols can be used without changing the host processor hardware or software. Since the unified interface is exactly the same as the RapID platform of the Industrial Ethernet version, customers who develop PROFIBUS products through the RapID platform can easily switch to the Industrial Ethernet version of this product. At the same time, customers who already use the RapID platform can now easily integrate PROFIBUS into their products.
