1 Scope

1.1 Basic requirements

This standard stipulates that under normal operating conditions, no spark, arc or dangerous temperature will be generated. The rated voltage of the power supply shall not exceed 11kV (AC RMS or DC value). The design, structure and inspection of the electrical equipment with increased safety type e explosion-proof type shall be adopted. And special requirements for signs.

These special requirements are in addition to the general requirements of GB3836.1. The provisions of GB3836.1 apply to the increased safety electrical equipment, except for the parts that are not applicable.

1.2 Precautions

1.2.1 The GB3836.3 standard stipulates the special requirements for the design, structure, inspection and marking of all electrical equipment adopting the increased safety type e explosion-proof type. It covers a wide range of fields and is professionally broad. It includes various types of electrical equipment. The e-explosion-proof type must meet the special requirements, limited to the professional and article length, this article only introduces the special requirements of the increased safety explosion-proof lamps involved in the standard.

1.2.2 This standard is applicable to electrical equipment that does not generate sparks, arcs or dangerous temperatures under normal operating conditions, and that uses an increased safety e-explosion type.

1.2.3 The special requirements specified in this standard are in addition to the general requirements of GB3836.1. The increased safety electrical equipment must meet all applicable requirements of GB3836.1 and GB3836.3.

1.2.4 In addition to complying with the requirements of GB3836 explosion-proof electrical standards, increased safety explosion-proof luminaires shall also meet the requirements of GB7000 series luminaire safety standards.

1.3 Integrity of safety requirements for explosion-proof luminaires

1.3.1 The complete safety requirements for explosion-proof luminaires shall include not only the explosion-proof safety requirements of GB3836 eqv IEC60079 “Electrical Equipment for Explosive Gas Atmospheres”, but also the general safety requirements of GB7000/IEC60598 “Lamps” family standards, two standard families. The corresponding relationship has been described in the scope of application of the IEC60079 and IEC60598 standards.

Scope and object

For explosion proof luminaries, as covered by IEC 60079, the requirements of IEC 60598 (selecting the appropriate parts 2) are applied in addition to the requirements of IEC 60079. In the event of any conflict between IEC 60598 and IEC60079, the requirements of IEC 60079 take priority.

IEC60079 only covers explosion-proof safety requirements and does not include other general safety requirements. The safety requirements for explosion-proof luminaires should include not only the explosion-proof safety requirements of IEC60079, but also the general safety requirements of the IEC60598 standard. When there is a conflict between IEC60079 and IEC60598, the requirements of IEC60079 should be preferred.

1.3.2 Since the IEC60079 family standard is for the explosion-proof safety requirements of various types of explosion-proof electrical appliances, it is impossible to explain the general safety requirements of each type of explosion-proof electrical appliances, and the general safety requirements of all types of explosion-proof electrical appliances should be consistent with Their respective relevant IEC general safety requirements.

Explosion-proof luminaires are special luminaires whose safety performance must comply with the explosion-proof safety requirements of the GB3836 eqv IEC60079 family standard, and should also meet the general safety requirements of the GB7000/IEC60598 family of standards. If it is only tested according to GB3836 eqv IEC60079 family standard, it can only prove its explosion-proof safety performance, but it can not explain whether its general safety performance is reliable. Once the general safety performance occurs, the electrical components are burnt out, the grounding is discontinuous, the casing protection and insulation failure, etc. Serious failures may also cause an explosion.

GB3836eqvIEC60079 standard only proposes the control requirements and basic test methods for surface temperature and cable inlet temperature for explosion-proof lamps, and GB7000/IEC60598 standard provides comprehensive assessment requirements for the thermal performance of explosion-proof lamps.

Ground

The GB3836eqvIEC60079 standard only requires the grounding connection and the minimum cross-sectional area of ​​the grounding wire for the explosion-proof luminaire, and the GB7000/IEC60598 standard puts forward the system requirements for the grounding connection of the explosion-proof luminaire, the grounding continuity, the grounding resistance, the grounding wire and so on.

1.3.3 In summary, the explosion-proof luminaire safety certification test is not comprehensive enough to be tested according to the GB3836 eqv IEC60079 family standard, and the operability is not strong. We believe that the safety certification of explosion-proof lamps should be tested in accordance with the applicable provisions of GB3836 eqv IEC60079 family and GB7000/IEC60598 family standards, to verify the explosion-proof safety performance of explosion-proof lamps, and to check the general safety performance of explosion-proof lamps. Only in this way can we fully and completely evaluate the safety of explosion-proof lamps.
