The Internet of Things (IoT) aims to realize the concept of the Internet of Everything, where a massive amount of data will be generated and processed. As a result, cloud platforms have become one of the core technologies driving this transformation. However, one of the most pressing challenges today is how to effectively manage and scale IoT server cloud solutions.
At the 2017 China Internet of Things Conference, officials from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology highlighted that China’s IoT sector is entering a phase of rapid growth, with a market size exceeding 900 billion yuan. With strong government support, the deployment of mobile IoT infrastructure continues to expand, and IoT applications are expected to become a major trend in the coming years. Among the emerging solutions, the Swoole IoT Cloud Platform has gained attention for its comprehensive approach to IoT server communication.
While many companies in the IoT space focus on hardware and devices, Swoole positions itself in the software domain, specifically in server communication. The IoT software landscape is often fragmented, with numerous proprietary protocols from different manufacturers. Swoole's goal is to create a unified platform that supports multiple protocols, enabling seamless communication between various vendors and brands in the cloud.
The Swoole IoT Cloud Platform offers four key advantages: First, it supports fast iteration and uses PHP dynamic scripting, which allows immediate execution without compilation and supports hot deployment. Second, it leverages mature open-source technology that has been tested by a large user base and commercial applications, building a solid technical reputation. Third, it reduces R&D costs and simplifies development due to its low technical complexity. Fourth, it supports open protocols, enabling full network interoperability.

Currently, Swoole has launched a commercial version offering technical services and generating revenue. Its platform is used by major companies such as Tencent, Baidu, Didi, 360, Weibo, Bilibili, Tiger Tooth Live, Like, and Good Future. It also has a vibrant technical community with over 10,000 engineers.
On the technical front, Swoole can handle millions of concurrent network connections. Built using pure C, it ensures high performance and stability while supporting PHP, allowing developers to work 10 times faster than with C++ or Java. Commercial products like Swoole Compiler and Swoole Plus have been developed to meet enterprise needs.
“Swoole has been developing its technology for more than seven years. Compared to other platforms, we have built a strong reputation among engineers and the tech community,†said founder Han Tianfeng. He emphasized that Swoole’s open-source contributions are a significant advantage, and the company has developed software for source code protection and data security—offering both open-source and commercial versions.
In terms of monetization, Swoole generates revenue through software sales and service fees via private clouds, and device access fees through public clouds. The company collaborates with electronic equipment manufacturers and promotes its solutions through industry exhibitions and tech communities.
Currently, Swoole is seeking 5 million yuan in angel funding, aiming to sell 10% of its shares. The funds will be used for product development and marketing efforts.
The team behind Swoole includes founder Han Tianfeng, who graduated from China University of Geosciences and has worked at Tencent, Alibaba, Huya, and Wheel Interconnection. CTO Guo Xinhua, from Shenyang Institute of Chemical Technology, brings extensive experience in software engineering from his time at Sina Weibo and Jumei Youpin. CMO Dou Kun specializes in international marketing, focusing on markets in Europe and America.
